Chief?! (XCOM 2)
Chief?! Seriously? Did the localizers? So many spelling mistakes that do not count! But the chief??? When I hear me a low atmospheric voice says Congratulations, Commander!. The second word is pronounced incredible in the translation I read, Congratulations, Chief!. Jeez, as if watching a Soviet Comedy with the Nikulino and Mironov. How could it?
Who knows there are some patches that replaces the chef in all dialogs to Commander, General, Commander, Commander or something like that?
PS I understand that the localizers chose between chef and head of two evils choosing the lesser? Chief??!!!
Patch from gigabait_220 correcting the Chief to Commander:

Muskrat
People just do not understand that their language is NOT the main, and therefore the desired adaptation in the translation. But no, better to fart that all suck to pick the font which a man with a -7 will not be able to read and scream that intonation is not the same. Downey is always there, which is sad.
Chief in the Russian army
In Russia, in the Russian army in the XVIII and XIX centuries (until the reign of Nicholas I) each regiment, regardless of his commander, had the chief (honorary commander), a General's rank, for General oversight of the management of the regiment and for his household.
Later the title of chef only honorary conferred to the members of the Imperial house, and honored generals of the Russian army.
