Processor and selection
Hello everyone, members of the forum. Quite recently I decided to change my processor, because my old dual-core man cannot cope with new games. My choice fell on the AMD FX 8350 processor, despite the fact that I often read comments where AMD processors "demean" that Intel is "indispensable for games". However, Intels are too expensive for my modest budget, so my choice was Amdi. And so, wandering through the wastelands of the citylink, I found this processor. I looked at its characteristics: 4 GHz, 8-core and even cheap. However, a doubt arose in me: "what if the processor is weak"? In general, I want to see your opinion about this "machine". Or maybe it's better to take Intel at all? I'm not very strong in processors. If you really take another, then tell me which one. The price, preferably somewhere around 11-15k.MoulSoul
with these amd I saw the blue screen of death every hour, with intel I forgot about them
Oh!, Guys, I went in successfully, - "the next thing I changed my 970 to 980 and the feeling that my old 3570K, overclocked to 4.3Hz, sucks in games, works at 98-100% and is always 98, I rarely see that's 99% ". How to check if it has enough processor?
Zubex_XXX
Well, I'm not really afraid, since I'm ordering for the first time. If the citylink can be more or less trusted, then the Germans ...
_Norton_
and what is there to check, and it is so clear that your percent does not pull
MoulSoul
yes, for example, let's remember 1941 - the Germans treacherously ...

It is a pity, however, the percent is very good and if you catch up to 4.5?
_Norton_ is
useless, my 4690k 3.5 GHz switch on the motherboard itself accelerates to 4.2 GHz, I checked for Crisis 3, the difference is 3-5 frames
Well, in general, in short, I decided to take 6400. As a result, 21 thousand turned out. Zubex_XXX thanks for the help, for helping me in the choice. And thank you all for your attention.

Although, the Germans are really "cheaper". They lure you, bastards ...

I'm not against AMD. I just think that you shouldn't build a system on a socket that has outlived its usefulness. In a year, another one may not be enough, but a person wants to take as much as 980 (probably 1080;)).
PS I'm not sitting on the 1366 socket because I think it is the best.

amd 8350 is quite normal even with 980 ti it works, I think 1080 is too tough for him, it's just that the whole problem of amd is in insufficient optimization for it, as in principle, in most games, optimization for nvidia cards is better

Let's go offtopic. Amd hasn't come up with anything new for 7-8 years. The process was only improved and the frequencies were raised. Intel at least work on the architecture. Therefore, Intel processors perform significantly more computations per cycle.
PS I hope the next generation from AMD will surprise me. I want healthy competition.

My first processor was from AMD. At that time, it was a fairly powerful computer. All games were played on max. And then at one fine moment, the computer ordered to live long. As it turned out, the processor died. Probably. from overheating, as the fan has been broken. I tried to launch it, and it even worked, but then it finally left me. The bottom line is that a friend's processor from AMD also burned out. And that's why my confidence in AMD products has already dropped. The only thing that drew me to 8350 is the price and more or less good characteristics.

Take 8300. The same thing, but it costs less. And don't take 980. Wait a month until 1070 is released.

In short, summing up my question, having tested in many games, I can say with confidence that the I5-3570K 4.3GHz reveals 980, maybe someone will be useful.
