The old thread forums.playground.ru/crysis/174471/ was full of posts, continue the discussion here! Please do not post links to other Russian-language sites about the game Crysis.

trigen Indeed, the question was vague. I'll try to be more specific:
Probably many have seen in films (and games too) very rough simplifications of physical laws? Well, it's the same in Crysis. Only to find out about this in the game basically there is no time - thoughts are about something else. But the unreality (impossibility) of what is happening, in the first place, becomes visible in the landscape (not immediately, of course, but from the moment of the onset, in the course of events). And in the 2nd game characters talk about it and repeat it many times. At the same time - such a huge mistake that it is just right to say "I didn't even notice the elephant."
:)))) Naturally, the presence of aliens, the absence of gravity and any cool weapon does not apply here - it's all possible (although one can argue about weapons :).
Wett 1) What about the scenery? Be specific and specific.
2) What are the characters talking about? What "elephant" we did not notice?
I didn’t understand shit, except for the fact that the game has unfinished physics. - Of course, it is only necessary to take into account that even what is there is far from small.
Give up?
All characters claim that under the sphere the temperature is -200 degrees. Will you guess further or describe the real state of the environment at such a temperature?
The landscape - everyone saw the shafts of sea waves frozen at one moment - the same hint of cosmic cold (I explain - if the people under the sphere meant the temperature not in Celsius, but in Fahrenheit, which is doubtful, then Celsius is somewhere -93 degrees. This temperature is not enough to immediately freeze a wave of water, which means that the frost hit was cosmic, and the consequences were the same.)
"temperature -200 degrees" - the same temperature in the cold generator of a conventional refrigerator. "all characters" - in Warhead it was mentioned that the temperature in the sphere is -50. "-200" says the infantryman, who has taken on a temporary role to display male culture. "Surrender"? - It was hyperbole.
"the blow of frost was cosmic" - If it were not for the Earth's atmosphere, then the Earth itself would have been burned to the ground. This means that not a single "frost strike" will pass not only through the atmosphere, but simply through the sun's rays. Therefore, the "frost strike" was caused by an alien ship.
"I didn't even notice the elephant" - because it didn't exist.
Alpha_Regenerator
"temperature -200 degrees" - the same temperature in the cold generator of a conventional refrigerator. - are you laughing? :) The maximum that freons can give out is -70, and for a "regular refrigerator", i.e. household - 30 -45 (the boiling point of freon (freon) R12). I wonder what you meant by "cold generator"? In any case, this one is an ordinary metal capillary tube, together with a freezer at -200, they became brittle, or maybe crumbled - the wrong metals :)
I don’t remember how much, in Crysis itself, people basically said exactly -200. In Warhead - I don't remember. was completed before Crysis. "frost strike" was caused by an alien ship - naturally. "I didn't even notice the elephant" - because it didn't exist. Looks like you haven't noticed it yet.
the blow of frost was cosmic - it meant a measure of temperature, and not the direction from which the blow came. Backfill question - what is the temperature in space?
In general, the topic is very interesting, if it was really -200 under the sphere, and not -50 (I doubt at -50 people do not freeze to the state of fragile glass and you cannot freeze the sea shaft).
trigen
Fixed. Mutually:) fix Warwead on Warhead :))))
???...I know that the pressure is terribly high.

:-X
Hmm. Just like in Anatoly Antipov's book "The Strategy of Reason and Success": "The Soviet Union started the Great Patriotic War in 1937. America won it†(modern Moscow schoolchildren, 11th grade). Bad things. If it were taiga... and it is very similar to America.
Okay, laugh and that's enough. Gnawing Yandex is not necessary, at least play Dead Space
PS Something Alpha_Regenerator is not visible, does the refrigerator disassemble? :)))
Wett is "not visible" - in Khabarovsk +7 hours from Moscow. I work during the day, I write as much as I can in the evening.
"cold generator" - oh, my friend, I have never been involved in the maintenance of refrigerators, so I name its components in such a way that at least it is clear to me myself =)
"-30-40" - it was right to write shorter, as I said about hyperbole both about the second and about the first. "the same temperature in the refrigerator..."
"measurement of temperature" - the phrase "So the frost hit was cosmic" is perceived as a statement, and not as something else.
"temperature in space" is a really interesting question. If you turn to the sun, it can warm up to 20-30 degrees, but with the shadow side I find it difficult to answer. But they say
"gnaw Yandex" - I was once fond of space, stars, etc. True, it was over ten years ago, but something is still remembered.
"I doubt at -50 ..." - and no one said that they froze at such a temperature)) As we know, aliens love the cold. In order to instantly set the desired temperature (~ -50 degrees), a sharp burst of cold with a higher temperature is required. Yes, yes, let it be 200, 300 or even 500 degrees Fahrenheit. So, then everything is clear and justified. At least I tried to be more concise. Let's say my eyes are pretty tired from reading the "nothing" argument.
"he was not noticed" - no one noticed him except you. Only now, for some reason you do not want to talk about "him".
trigen
Alpha_Regenerator - and I'm not in Moscow either, so the time difference with you is probably even greater. And my maximum acquaintance with the refrigerator is: "open-take-close" :). Just once it became interesting - where does the cold come from? All refrigeration tech-details are taken from the Internet, not mine.
I used to be fond of space, stars, etc. - No, it's not that deep. This knowledge is elementary - from school. The truth is not always remembered. And me too - Crysis and Crysis Warhead were long gone when it came to mind. Reading the book by S. Lem "Fiasco", head of Birnam Forest. On the planet, due to the still high temperature of the core, there was a high activity of geysers. A large amount of gases (mainly polymeric compounds) were thrown upwards. The temperature on the surface was -90 degrees C and the gases solidified turning into snow. There was also an article in one of the latest issues of Popular Mechanics. The authors analyzed "is it possible to shoot in space with a pistol?".
Now about space:
- the temperature there, the so-called "absolute zero" in Kelvin - in Celsius it is a frost of about -270 degrees C !!!! Any substance is found there only in solid form, incl. and gas - in the form of ice! And getting into the rays of the Sun, you can warm up not to 20-30 degrees C, but more, up to 100, in my opinion.
trigen ... I know that the pressure is terribly high. - no - no, quite the contrary! there is a complete vacuum in space. Therefore, if a breakdown of the ship's hull happens - the people inside will simply be torn apart! In the not-so-old movie, Inferno, there was a scene where three people jumped from the airlock of one ship to another, in outer space. One in a space suit, dragging two more, who were simply wrapped in thermal insulation. In reality, these two would have died immediately.
Yes, I can't. If you are interested, I will write about the "elephant" in Crysis later.
PS It's a pleasure to talk with you. Looking back at the experience of my communication on the forums, I can say this does not happen often - they could also "peck". And I even thought that I would have to apologize for my previous post, and suddenly a person would be offended. See you later.
Wett Around -270? - It seems that I should look for old books and refresh my knowledge, since anyone and anything can write on the Internet. "100 C" - obviously too much ;-)
"offended" - for children there is only their own "I" and nothing more. Try to refute something, argue somewhere - and a lot of abuse will immediately fall on you. Therefore, you shouldn't worry about it. There are no such people here, and if there are, then only these http://www.playground.ru/files/52269/
Crysis has this property - if you use the safest tactics, it becomes a terribly boring game. Turned on the camouflage - left the shelter - took aim - turned off the camouflage - fired - turned on the camouflage - stepped back a little - took aim at another soldier ... And so on until the victory. To make it more interesting, it is necessary not to act according to logic, but to trick.
For example, ahead of the Korean patrol. It is most reasonable to turn on the disguise and calmly pass by. Or, in extreme cases, attach a silencer and opt to your machine gun. sight, lie down in the bushes and put everyone from afar. Boredom! No. It's more fun to run into them at max. speed, break one with the butt, grab the second and throw it at the third, and shoot the fourth with a shotgun until he comes to his senses. Or take the Red Barrel, max. forcefully throw it at opponents and blow it up next to them. You can think of something else, since the crisis game mechanics allows it. Like, entertain yourself, player.
PS: Six months ago in this thread they talked about the "elephant". If I understand correctly, then the "elephant" is a nitrogen-oxygen rain that should have fallen inside the ice sphere? I immediately thought about it, as soon as the Prophet said about "minus two hundred."
It must be assumed that the appearance of the Ice Orb in the game is based on artistic assumptions. After all, if everything crumbled from the earthquake that followed immediately after the freeze, we could not admire the icy vegetation. The weapon must continue to function, because otherwise the shooter would stop inside the Sphere and some non-shooter boredom would begin. And the figures of instantly frozen people are a much more spectacular decoration than just corpses lying on the ground.
Recently I tried to run Crysis one more time... No, after all, this game has exhausted itself for me.
Firstly, this cheat invisibility infuriates. It is worth turning on disguise - and the enemy does not see you point-blank. And you won’t be able to do without it, because. the game is tightly "sharpened" for it.
Secondly, there is a terrible imbalance in the arsenal available to the player. While there are no aliens, only a machine gun with a snipe rules. scope and rocket launcher. Everything else is just to indulge, and stationary machine guns are even unsuitable for this.
PS: I remember that Tsevat (or Dzhevat?) Yerli himself in an interview before the release of Crysis said that, they say, the new game does FarCry in all respects, incl. and on the gameplay (?!). Weird...
Advantages 1
) graphics 2
) physics 3 )
nanosuit 4 ) the ability to rebuild
weapons
5) freedom of movement
6) you choose the battle tactics
dimakozhanov You have an
interesting list. Advantage #3 is the Nanosuit, and Disadvantage #2 is the Nanosuit Menu. What is it like?
And here is IMHO: the quality #4 kills the quality #6. I put a sniper on the machine. scope, and the single best tactic is to cut the Koreans out from a safe distance. You can, of course, choose other tactics, but there is no incentive (your own desire does not count, the game itself should encourage the use of various tactics).
Trigen
Oh, I'd love to see a playthrough like this! To try, or something ... True, I'm afraid that everything will come down only to long-range combat.
Traigen
Of course, but in many places there is simply nowhere to hide, and if you get into close combat without using disguise, you will certainly be surrounded and shot from all four corners of the world. Or not? At least, I tried to do this, and on the first try I almost never managed to go through such places.
Trigen
Well then, let's see if it really will be more interesting. And then with this super-camouflage you get bored really quickly if there are no enemy tanks, "nanospecial forces" or aliens nearby. And it's so boring that it's already a shame for the game, because in everything else it's just wonderful.
Pros
-Cool graphics and physics
-Technology
-There is where to run
Cons
-The plot is not the same (Compared to Far Cry). The classic "Island of Dr. Moreau" was replaced with "Island of nanoboys, Koreans and aliens" Some kind of Hollywood.
-The atmosphere is not the same (Compared to Far Cry).
-Gameplay is not the same (Compared to Far Cry)
-Romantic scenery is not the same (Compared to Far Cry)
-Interesting is not the same (Compared to Far Cry)
-No intrigue (Compared to Far Cry)
-Nanosuit ( IMHO). Completely unnecessary possibilities.
Although, the shooter is not bad. Compared to Codes and Killzones. But to Farkrai is like walking to China.
