In general terms, I liked the game, I only disliked the fact that it was difficult to navigate using the mini-map, and their small number.
And I especially liked the music, the main thing is that in each city, different factions have different music :)
Hmmm .. I reread almost the whole topic, and when from the very beginning there was a wave of negatives about the game, someone somewhere mentioned: "wait for the patches!" I put 3.0 "lords of the horde" at once, i.e. I did not play the previous ones. First impressions suck. I didn’t like everything except the graph, like these are not the heroes who were before and blah blah blah. But, then I got involved, you quickly get used to the free camera, the combat system. The races remained the same, only the troops changed. The hero's skills have changed slightly, new ones have appeared, and most importantly, with a certain buildup, a hidden skill appears, each race has its own, I'm not talking about magic. The map generator made me very happy - it will do it in 5 seconds. what you like right in the game. And of course the multiplayer, the grid was cut with my brother! Attention! - walked simultaneously, i.e. waiting for the current of bots. In general, it became more difficult to play, but for me and more interesting. In 3 heroes, to be honest, I got bored when you have a super hero and endure everyone, without loss. in the 5th it is practically unrealistic.
The game is not a masterpiece, there are many drawbacks, but still I am FOR V heroes!

My point of view (I will not highlight someone's answers and assumptions):
1. Heroes 3 had no analogues at one time, the game was unique for many years with its scale, colorful world, collorite battles (RPG intertwining with strategies).
2. Heroes 3 were not balanced in the same way as Heroes 5 (you can not argue, this is probably the first thing I notice in games):
a. Bug for bug. The presence of spells in the game, for example, "cloning" or "duplication", if you use them on archangels, then the clones possessed a resurrection spell, like this was not provided in the scenario.
b. Imba spells and specializations of heroes. That is, wars have always had a hard time, are units used as a wall in a crash test or a manikin? It was worth learning 4 schools of magic, so our hero is a magician, who, with one black dragon under his arm, begins to sweep everyone left and right (the faction of magicians Soulmere has, and I'm talking about an easier way to get a black dragon, gaining access to the spells of the 5th lvl). I'm talking about the fact that it was possible to pick up a teleport spell with which the hero becomes an "elusive avenger". If only to have time to reach the well in the breaks to reach the mana in order to correct the mana, these are the spells that demolish the floor of the army in one sitting (Explosion, or even like that, a ball of earth was drawn that explodes). I'm not saying that there is no imb in Heroes 5, but there is such a thing as linking to lvl, not only for those who specialize in monsters, there is also a specialization bonus percentage. In Heroes 3, 75% of the heroes go to the trash can at once, because they are stupid ... Moreover, even in the middle of the game you cannot save them from this, interest and bindings rule. And in the 5th and with the handles, the hero can hit and with the spell does not take away the army of the 4th lvl creatures in the amount of 2k from one cast.
in. Imba arrows were also canceled, which I am glad ... Since it was PPC, when at the beginning of 1-2 weeks you recruit monks and crossbowmen and whip any monster until the end of the game, just "refuel" without any problems. In heroes 5 it will not work like that - they will immediately give you a pump, even the demons of the 1st lvl and they can poke, and the spells do not really give an increase to the characteristics of the mob, preventing him from becoming imba.
Removed was blunt meat pile, all of the case left, goblins are in flow through the different abilities of monsters, and not dully in Heroes 3 - meat ...
3. bug to bug artifacts, worth a look in your inventory immediately when picked up, where clothes -that disappeared, the set items were not sorted out, and if you didn’t collect them right away, then you’re stuck, and it used to be a shame when the system overlooked the component of the set and it didn’t get ready at all ...
4. Graphics - I am silent, I will not compare, it is stupid ... as well as musical accompaniment ...
5. The game is not cut down, on the contrary, it's expanded, it's easier to control everything - you don't have to rush between captured "nests" all over the map to get your 12 shooters ... once a year = / ... Yes, yes, these are Heroes 3 ... But these shoals were getting out.
6. Heroes 5 gained flexibility that the rest of the game lacked. You can "sculpt" the Hero more smoothly and purposefully! Look at the skill tree, everything adjusts against the enemy, down with stupid meat, you need to thoughtfully make a Hero. And 2 more branches of monsters ...
In general, I can talk about this for a long time and tediously, I played Heroes for 3 years of my life, naturally with respite =) Although she was something very familiar like a teddy bear, but still there are many shortcomings, which are on the face ...
Heroes 5 are much better, the camera is very comfortable, the battlefield is more corrected and "straight", and not like a hexagonal figure elongated like a diamond - the battlefield ... Everything is clearly drawn.
Standard Heroes 5, to be honest, drove me into despair = / But the Lords of the Horde add-on changed my mind, with such interest I played only Hero 3! Before this game, Dark Messiah of might and magic took place and I was pleasantly surprised that these 2 games have a plot connected.
off-top, I was pleased that there are both critics and APers of the HoMM5 part among the fans. I respect all parts, which means that there are flaws everywhere, but there are no pluses, because we are arranged so that we love what we like.
I'll go directly to the topic, and write about HoMM5:
1) It's very good that the game remained TBS, because ubi wanted to make RTS, yes, and Nival actually left a lot of HoMM traditions, in part 5, as for me this is good, that's why it's not entirely appropriate to complain about the game, because you could play RTS at all ... (if someone didn't understand only thanks to the nival we play tbs)
2) The transition from isometric and 2D pixel art, to 3d, in my opinion, is good, because you cannot stay in one place, many will say, "NO Heroes must preserve traditions", etc. etc. , but weren't many of the top games of the present time, were they waiting? NO. They moved forward, and if we want well-being for a series of heroes of might and magic, we should not dwell on the principles of graphics. But I note 1 * but *, I would like the graphs more gloomy or something.
3) In my opinion, there is a balance between the factions, but who is he type, I will give an example that in many games there is a so-called full balance, that is, for whom you play you can defeat an opponent. In heroes, rather, races are mutually exclusive, many They will say, is this not an imbalance? Perhaps so, but the factions only have some dominance, but if your pens grow from the prescribed place, then you can delete any weaknesses against one or another faction. A simple example, I played through COMODOEasyVPN (analogue of hamachi), it would seem that the Academy has a great advantage in terms of spells over Lords S. I heard many people say that they were stupidly throwing stacks of enemies with chants. But my god, the dwarfs have a magician. supervision, runes of anti-magic. Well, of course I won for Lord S. In short, what I'm getting at is important,
4) Regarding the concept of the game, I already wrote that HoMM5 is HoMM3, why is it not bad, I’ll tell you, firstly, after 3 heroes, in my opinion very successful, they made them 3do at that time, 4 came out that were new the concept of% by ~ 70, the "waiting" did not like the game, and then it happened that what could happen to many companies, 3do and its partner went bankrupt, a long stagnation and now Nival bought the license, and instructed Nival to develop HoMM5, I already said as Nival fought for the traditions of the series, and Nival decided to take the old, proven concept of 3 heroes, and grease with buns. And in my humble opinion, this is not the worst thing that could happen.
5) And on the very worst, the plot, complete disappointment, 1 that at the end they were spoiled by the empire of the Unicorn (instead of the empire of the Griffin) and Dark Mesiach, although they already know about the Messiah.
And yes, here's another thing, I NOTE I DON'T WANT OF OFFENING ANYONE, but all those who say that the five is a pitiful semblance of three rubles, they are, IMHO, just self-asserting schoolboys :)
I played the fifth Heroes for a long time (I didn't play other parts) and even then I didn't really like it.
And when King's Bounty came out, I finally realized that Heroes 5 are not mine.
I ask the fans not to be offended by me, just "Legend of the Knight" for me is a more interesting, thoughtful and better game.
Maybe I didn't play Hero 5 enough and couldn't get a feel for the depth of the game's mechanics, but the game got bored earlier.

Heroes 3 is the best game ever. despite the outdated graphics, it is still number 1 on my list.
