Yes, nothing seems to overheat. Yes, and in other games all the rules, the current even Halva does not plow.
PS
In the net nobody was looking for a normal answer.
And you did not try, when the game hangs, press "Enter"? If an error pops up there, the window may not be displayed, but if you press Enter, you can achieve the completion of the process in this way ... Try to run the game in the window (delve into the settings -> video). So you can see what kind of error pops up, if it pops up, of course.

Comp hangs COMPLETELY. Even ctrl alt delete does not help.
What I think might be related to the graphics settings?
Even ctrl alt delete doesn't help.
Well, if it happened as I described above, then the task manager may also not be displayed on your monitor. So try running in a window.

Are you sure you are not overheating? It is not necessary that the game be super heavy to overheat the vidyuhi, I know from experience. Check if vertical sync is enabled in the settings (settings -> video) and enable it (keep in mind, it does not work in windowed mode, so use fullscreen to experiment with it (well, that is, full screen)).

Yes, it does not overheat. I have a single game going fine, that's just a network card with such a problem. And as for the experiments, I'll try.
I have a single game going fine, that's just a network card with such a problem.
Let's start with the fact that the "setevukha", which is a separate game from the single and therefore called HL2DM, and the single HL2 are made on different versions of the engine, and the one in HL2DM is more voracious. But if everything is fine with Half-Life 2 Episode One, then you are right (since Ep1 uses the same version of the engine).
xDDGx The trick
is that HL2EP1 and EP2 are running fine, no glitches.
I installed HL2DM and I have no font. Columns are empty.
projektor, do you happen to be a pirate? If so, don't you think that this is the only problem? .. In fact, HL2DM is a free game. So if possible, download Steam (http://store.steampowered.com/about/ - Get Steam Now button), and then follow the link http://www.steampowered.com/nvidia/ (in the first post of this the topic, by the way, is indicated).

Don't know I downloaded Half-life2 Ultimate edition.
And besides, it works for others.
PS
And I also have a no-steam version, although they were wrong because of this.
Heh, pirate pirates strife. When they talk about Steam, they mean something whole, which has a difference only in the versions of the engine. (from)
You know, I started the game in vertical sync mode and it started giving some kind of error, you need to check.
And yet, how do people play with no-steam then?
What is the point of suffering with a curve hl2dm when the incentive is completely free?
Get Steam Now!

I don't know, I downloaded the Half-life2 Ultimate edition.
Of course, a pirate! Blah, how can you be so blunt? After all, there are a lot of games, incl. Ep2, Portal, TF2, HL2 and so on, which simply cannot be free. It's another matter if a broken Steam - then you can conditionally "consider" that the games are practically indistinguishable from licensed ones, that's just the Steam is peratsky.
HL2UE, I must say, this is the best pirate build (I use it myself), it seems like it shouldn't be buggy. However, "in the vertical synchronization mode, and it began to give some kind of error" - even no guesswork. All games work fine, but DM doesn't want to. And you yourself did nothing? Maybe you accidentally deleted a file, wandered into the config, did something and forgot? This is hardly connected with the files of the game itself, tk. all files are in GTSF-kah ... Although, maybe the problem is in the unpacked files? Do this - open the Engine2 / hl2mp folder and delete everything from there, just leave gameinfo.txt. Well, or just move it if you downloaded something non-standard. If there is a folder hl2mp_russian - delete it too.
If this does not help, go along the simplest path, download a normal, unbroken DM, the blessing of links has given. And, for your information, people with a licensed game can go to pirated servers (but on the contrary, they cannot).
xDDGx Did
n't create anything. And about folders and files you need to experiment.
There is nothing about the Engine2 / hl2mp folder, only gameinfo.txt There is no hl2mp_russian
folder.
It's strange.
PS
Uraaa. People I managed to play without crashes and freezing with the mode in the window.
Special thanks to xDDGx.
Nothing strange, you just don't know how the Source Games are arranged and organized. All content is completely stored in GCF files (it can be extracted, the game itself, in principle, makes no difference, it will work, pirates used to do just that), which are not just archives, they have something like a file system. This, and the fact that all the content is collected in large files (it is much easier to read a single file than thousands of small ones), allows you to read all the data much faster. In addition, this allows you to save space - if you download pirate unpacks, then you will have your own hl2 folders for each game, containing copies of the content (albeit not all) of the original HL2, and if everything is collected in common GCPs, then each the game will connect those GCPs that it needs (it is impossible to stuff all the games into one folder so that hl2 is common for them, because they use different versions of the engine (it is contained in the bin folder)). In HL2UE, all GCPs are in the SteamApps folder, but if you put any files in the unpacked game folders - for example, additional cards, or replace standard models, textures, sounds - they will first swing, and if they are damaged, then the game can be a problem. But your folders are empty, so you have to download a licensed game.

Um, but other games work in full screen? .. No, well, of course it's good that there is an opportunity to play, but the problem has not been solved ...
When did you install the latest drivers? Try to download new ones - even if this does not solve the problem, new firewood can increase productivity, so if it has not been updated for a long time, it is worth downloading.
