HDD crash after installing the game (The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt)
Installing the game on Win.7 x64- C (Windows) SSD (240 GB) -> on E (games) HDD (320 GB)
1. Installed the game (repack, v.1.05), played, deleted it.
2. Installing the game (repack v.1.21 with DLC) - it is not installed, after a while the installation failed window pops up.
3. I start checking the system and find out that the HDD write speed has dropped to 5 MB / s (instead of the initial 120 MB / s). I conclude that the HDD that worked for 2 years is dead.
- other games work fine (HDD read speed = 150 MB / s)
4. I bought a new HDD (500 GB). Write speed = 150 MB / s.
5. I installed the game (repack v.1.21 with DLC), played it, deleted it.
6. I decided to play again, install the game (repack v.1.21 with DLC) - it is not installed, after a while the installation failed window pops up (Unarc.dll returned error code: -11).
- other games work fine (HDD read speed = 150 MB / s)
7. I start checking the system and find out that the HDD write speed (500 GB) has dropped to 5 MB / s (instead of the initial 150 MB / s).
8. I check the system for viruses (with a separate control SSD with Kaspersky) and detect a Trojan on (SSD 240 GB) C Program Files (x86) Common Files Microsoft Windows taskhost.exe
- remove the virus and HDD write speed (500 GB) recoverable up to 150 MB / s.
- hence the HDD (320 GB) is normal.

This error usually occurs when the archive is not unpacked correctly - the reasons may be different (look in the internet), even because of all the nonsense - for example, during installation, you have a media connected to your computer via USB (external screw , flash drive, etc.) ...
If you still sin on the disk, check it out specials. programs - mHDD, Victoria, etc. Or look at the program showing the "health" of the disk by SMART - without this, it is premature to say that the HDD is dead.
It is a pity that not permanently tough was killed. I deserve it for good. I would cram a virus that burns the motherboard into every repack with the Witcher.

The main thing is that all the Witcher 3 repacks that I downloaded have jambs. V.1.03 had a Mayer, v.1.05 and 1.21 had Trojans. This was not the case with other games.

from where you download the repacks - on normal trackers, distributions are usually checked and if there are complaints from people, they are deleted. How many games have downloaded (old pirate: D), never caught anything "malicious". Sometimes you come across "crooked" repacks (for example, tablets were tested on another OS - it may work for others, but you don't), but this is usually corrected by "pumping" the distribution from another release.

There are such good programs that you need to use periodically - Malwarebytes Anti-Malware (it also monitors the system for viruses) and Dr.Web CureIt (only checking for viruses). I advise you to use it. And then there is the universal program Kerish Doctor 2016 (monitors plus cleans the trash automatically).
PS By the way, these programs and RAM are scanned for viruses (there are viruses that climb into the RAM), unlike antivirus.

Yes, it works, but the virus drives. And many may not find this, because it is found during a reinstallation or similar large distributions that require a lot of RAM during installation. And most importantly, there were no such problems with other games, but with this Witcher as a specialist.
