HDD crash after installing the game (The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt)
Installing the game on Win.7 x64- C (Windows) SSD (240 GB) -> on E (games) HDD (320 GB)
1. Installed the game (repack, v.1.05), played, deleted it.
2. Installing the game (repack v.1.21 with DLC) - it is not installed, after a while the installation failed window pops up.
3. I start checking the system and find out that the HDD write speed has dropped to 5 MB / s (instead of the initial 120 MB / s). I conclude that the HDD that worked for 2 years is dead.
- other games work fine (HDD read speed = 150 MB / s)
4. I bought a new HDD (500 GB). Write speed = 150 MB / s.
5. I installed the game (repack v.1.21 with DLC), played it, deleted it.
6. I decided to play again, install the game (repack v.1.21 with DLC) - it is not installed, after a while the installation failed window pops up (Unarc.dll returned error code: -11).
- other games work fine (HDD read speed = 150 MB / s)
7. I start checking the system and find out that the HDD write speed (500 GB) has dropped to 5 MB / s (instead of the initial 150 MB / s).
8. I check the system for viruses (with a separate control SSD with Kaspersky) and detect a Trojan on (SSD 240 GB) C Program Files (x86) Common Files Microsoft Windows taskhost.exe
- remove the virus and HDD write speed (500 GB) recoverable up to 150 MB / s.
- hence the HDD (320 GB) is normal.
Has anyone had something similar with the game The Witcher 3?

Why such difficulties. It's easier for me (they stand on top of each other, they don't take up space):
1. Computer 1 game - Win.7 x64 - for the latest games and some under XP.
2. Comp 2 - Win.7 x86 - Internet, and Win.XP (on another HDD) - Internet (spare) and games.
3. Comp 3 - Win.XP - general.
4. Comp 4 - spec.

And if it's even simpler, then you need to put Win 10 with the second system, purely for games and without Internet. I had XP and Vin 7, three years.

Why such difficulties? - I sell old hardware, I don't need more than one computer.

Well, this is who does what. And by the way, some good games only run on XP, and don't throw it away.

And here I want to test Win 10. Win 7 I have a lick and don't want to update to Win 10. So I'll put it second, pirate.

I didn’t throw out mine: I bought a vidyuhu with DX10 - I installed a second OS for Vista, with DX11 - 7-ku. When the need for XP disappeared, I took it down, 7-ka remained. And all this on one computer - I don't work on it, mainly for entertainment (audio, video, games), that's enough for me.

set myself 3 times - "test" (TP, 10240, 10586). Until I have found the reasons for the transition for myself - perhaps when I play games that only go to 10-ke, then I will move, while there is no desire - 7 suits everyone.

Well, try it. Others will learn from your experiment. And what is written on the Internet is enough for me and what my acquaintance, a specialist, said about Win.10

Yes, I also heard a lot, although some praise, and then ask why they have problems in this or that game.))

Some games (a few - I don’t remember the names) on my 7 didn’t want to run because of the presence of DX11 in it, despite the fact that at that time I had a video card only with DX10.1. On Vista, they were launched on DX10 (if there was support), until melkosoft "screwed" the 11th direct there too - although I won't say that it got worse, after that some began to run in DX11 "mode". I didn’t understand why - although I don’t care, they worked fine.

some games on Vista that are important to you
Amendment were important, before buying a video card with DX11, now everything runs on it without problems and Vista was replaced by its "modified version" - 7.
And what is this (TP, 10240, 10586)?
Assemblies (versions) 10s from small soft ones:
TP - Technical Preview (beta for testing)
10240 - RTM (release assembly)
10586 - later (and so far officially the last, not counting the test ones), with bug fixes.

Clear. We have to wait until everything is settled. Maybe the small-soft fools will come out of their heads or the world will turn upside down.
