Physics and destructibility in the game (Crysis 2)

Played a multiplayer demo. Destructibility is zero (except for breaking windows, and even then not all). Although in an interview for PCGames.de, comrades Christian Schlütter and Robert Horn (krytek employees) said: "The game will have destructible objects on a large scale, including walls and trees, but buildings in general will be indestructible, just like in Battlefield: Bad Company."

In fact, the column on the highway pissed me off: I hit him on armored cars this way and that, but at least he had something, destructibility was destroyed in the bud, the fall of skyscrapers was probably calculated in advance.

Unless I noticed the concrete barriers (slabs) are slightly collapsing and some other barriers, of which there are only a few pieces in the game. The pillars with lanterns are especially annoying, which even an armored personnel carrier does not knock down, at a time when in GTA4 everything was knocked down on the road to the smallest detail.

Don't be bullshit. Advertising is not physx, but nvidia itself. The game for nv cards was also sharpened. And PhysX in Crysis has never been and never will be, since it has its own physical. Crytek engine - CryPhysics (calculation of physics using the CPU)

Concrete barriers are the only thing that can actually break down. But this is not comparable to the comparison with the land of the village from the first part.

And in the first crisis, the main task of Nomad was to break palm trees and deprive poor North Korean servicemen of a roof over their heads? I probably had a circumcised pirate, but missions like "go smash that shack over there!" I did not have. But destructibility (though not complete) was. And it was a lot of fun. And this feature of the gameplay did not violate the whole picture of what was happening, but rather added a bunch of strategic opportunities.
And with the new pseudo destructibility, there are more and more ridiculous cases.
There is a tent, under it are two barrels of fuel. We blow up. Yeah ... In Russia, they have not yet learned how to make portable tents from titanium and concrete. But the benches are made of glass! A shot at the shop is accompanied by such injuries to the test subject that it is even hard to imagine how a barrel-shaped Pindos, coming out of a McDuck, can sit on it in order to save himself from a heart attack (what are you, he walked 20 meters!). I liked the block with boxes even more (a piece of plywood, boxes were stacked on it and tied with tape), flying into such a structure on an infantry fighting vehicle (and the speed was high enough to break through the wall of a nearby McDuck), I flew off like a billiard ball. I wonder what's in those boxes? Super massive dark energy? Hamburgers?
