How do you feel about old games?
It's interesting to hear people's opinions on this. What do you think, is it worth wasting time on old platforms and games or there are so many new games coming out now that there is no time and desire for them? And another interesting point - do you play the first game of any major series (for example, Tomb Raider, The Elder Scrolls), before passing the new ones, or immediately proceed to their modern versions? Thanks in advance.
You look at cyberia 94, what an idea, if now released with new graphics, then the action movie of the year will be. And now just shlaaak, prey 2017 what is it, what is it!? ahahaha
Indy some appeared. It used to be in the noughties games were not big, but with their own concept. And now the mega sessions with a bunch of dls, and you can't try all the content in a lifetime, not enough money for a subscription. Teso for example, oooh very expensive, scored on the scrolls.
I think the most revolutionary game at the moment is gta 5/online. You want to fly, swim, underwater. I think gta 6 will go further, yes rockstars love to make fun of everyone, and tease Ilon Musk. Mission to send a car into orbit, ahaha.

And I don't understand how people used to play old games! Graphics are poor, lives are not vastanavlyayutsya. No map. These are bad games! Take Call of Duty. Everything's great! Graphics, plot that is pogachete with many books, and even movies! And take Half Lafe 2! Oh, my gosh! Graphics are bad! It's nothing compared to Cruzis 3! Cruzis 3 is a shredder! And the old games suck!

Very interesting) You could have originally looked at my subscription list and seen that half of the games I subscribe to date back to the mid-90s. So you call me a high school kid for nothing lolf. I'm not saying I'm an adult, just a 3rd year graduate. But to play old games and get a real pleasure. For example my favorite game is Silent Hill 2. Or is it not old enough?

I treat old games as a relic of the past. I'm pissed off at people who are so full of themselves that the grass used to be greener and the games used to be better. Of course they are right that the old games are good, but these conservative gamers accept everything new by default in the hostility and do not want to see a new development of old ideas. The same Fallout 1-2 is very cool, there's no argument, but cool exclusively for 1998-2000. Today is 2018 and these old games look cheesy. Just look at the recent Wasteland 2 (released 4 years ago), which sold well, but became a mega successful game, because it is built on outdated gameplay mechanics. Many gamers are just nostalgic, and I would call it the "gamer conservative" disease. It's like a politician who once sat in his chair, and that's where he stopped his development. Same goes for the so-called oldfags, supposedly old gamers who understand games. I myself have been playing since the 90's, I remember how cool the games were back then. But trying to run some of them again today in 2018, I immediately realized that all this is just a sense of nostalgia. in fact old games are very miserable. Everything is cool only in the new games.
For clarity, and for the confused, a little clarification. Let's remember the first Deus Ex or Halo, or even the first Diablo, or maybe Red Alert? - Many will say that these are mega cool games with soul. And now imagine that with exactly the same crooked animations, crooked voice acting, crooked translation, crooked cut scenes, in general everything that used to be considered made with soul, suddenly in 2018 will begin to add to their games TOP developers AAA projects. Imagine ASSASSIN with animations from 2000... and now imagine if all games would do it TODAY in 2018. Can you imagine? And now a question: in 2018 you will kick the developers for being lazy, for not developing games since the 90's, or will you agree with the excuse of the developer that his game is so crooked, because it has a soul? Imagine if they started making games with 90's and early 2000's technology. TODAY...
Many people berate ME ANDROMEDU for the animations, supposedly made disgustingly. Imagine, here's a developer who pretends to be nostalgic for the games from the 90's when everything was soulfully done. That's why he decided to do soulful animations in Andromeda. What do you say to that? And I know, you won't say anything, because talking about how the games used to be better is an empty sound with a pittance.
I love everything new, I hate conservatives. I have a lot of warm emotions from the 90's, early 2000's about games. So let those emotions stay there, in the past. Today in 2018, there's no way I'm playing those old games, because they're really cheesy. That said, the first MAFIA is still gameplay-wise cool, but the graphing, animations, and everything else is at the plinth level for 2018. I can see it all. And for that I will kick all over even a masterpiece like MAFIA, because for 2018 it's no longer a masterpiece.
That would be cool in '98, not cool at all in 2018. FACT! To anyone nostalgic for old games, I'd advise a TOP PC to buy one. Because as long as you don't have a TOP PC, you won't change your attitude towards new games. You see, new games have to be played on ULTRA graphs. Otherwise, the effect is not the same, and you'll still sit in the trap of the past, and with foam at the mouth to prove that the grass was greener before.

The problem is that only graphics evolves, and even that can hardly be called an evolution, new technologies do not particularly often appear, more polygons, higher resolution textures, that's all development. Presurface scattering, ambient occlusion, global illumination, dynamic shadows - all this was in the first Crysis!
And now that you're talking about the technical component, show me at least 3 games of the last 8 years, in which the physics together will surpass, or at least will be at the level of the same Crysis 2007 year? I can only think of one, the last Zelda.
And where are the normal writers, able to write interesting stories, create thoughtful characters and write adequate dialog without (sarcasm)? Where is the normal AI in single player games? Good level designers are probably extinct too? And this applies not only to single player games, but multiplayer, this aspect is even more significant.
Rightly wrote the comrade above, now many developers are acting on the principle - "Give you a map, weapons and entertain yourself as you want. And maybe, if our leading programmer's left heel wants, we will bring optimization, so that our soap could produce a stable 60fps, at least at 1080ti.
