How do you feel about old games?
It's interesting to hear people's opinions on this. What do you think, is it worth wasting time on old platforms and games or there are so many new games coming out now that there is no time and desire for them? And another interesting point - do you play the first game of any major series (for example, Tomb Raider, The Elder Scrolls), before passing the new ones, or immediately proceed to their modern versions? Thanks in advance.
I recently played Dark Messiah of Might and Magic, I bought the disc back in 2006 and it's been lying around for so many years, honestly! Went through the whole game in the same breath, hooked, by the way the game from Arkane. Last year I bought Assassins Creed Origins, but first I read about the series, calculated that AC2 is considered the best, passed it with pleasure, hooked, was a useful introduction to the series. In all cases, the "last century" feel, but there's something about these games that clings. Once, in 2004, passed the first halva - in the same breath, still in love with it and consider it the best game of all time.

Dandy is right, it's understandable. Mass distribution (illegal, by the way) in the post-Soviet area this console was after the collapse. And not only games were spread, but also other goods (at least in some way a plus)...

I think that if you want to go through some of the older games, then why not.

I have a great attitude and play them. These are the games that are fun to play, that have gameplay!
Now everything is more developed, most studios have a major publisher or are themselves such, have become more influential and have a large audience, the game is widely accepted by the masses as a product, so that the era of the passerby with a nice visual. In any case, they will buy up as good as gold. Yes, there are masterpieces like the new RDR 2, but they are very rare projects.
And then the developers should have made really good games, because no one will buy them. Back then they needed a reputation, and now on reputation they make conveyors of dubious quality both technically and gameplay-wise.

I have a good attitude. In my years as a gamer, I still realized that graphics and novelty are not the main thing. And that's why I play both old and new games exactly the same way. And I have to admit that the old games were a lot better.

I play them from time to time, overcoming the tractor control and the language barrier. But I will say this, they are very often really fun to play. There's no graphophone, it can be monstrous at all, pixel hammered with a pixel club, but there's everything else that makes you believe that you're that pixel kid in the helmet over there. And it's easy to believe, which is the most important thing. Good graphics automatically cut off the imagination and rarely give me anything in return, the game designer is then obligated to draw me what I want to see...does he even know what I want to see?)

Positively, and there used to be a lot more of them, better quality, created by developers who were driven by the goal - to create original, beautiful, pleasantly complex. The modern game industry, is only focused on sales. For me, the dementia began with the release of Heroes 5. I was waiting for the realization of this grand universe, relying on modern features in 3D. Imagining this Something, atmospheric, monstrously beautiful, breaking out of stereotypes, and the smallest details, rich gameplay. And received, a cheesy engine. There is no talk of Art, no way. Around dementia, supported by the players, encouraging things like chests with keys, textures for USD, "experience booster", and in general the prosperity of pseudo in the so-called - online. And beyond that, nothing will change for the better. There will be Giants, but lonely ones like the Watgern story, Total War Empire, and Doom. Once in a decade. And it's not about the developers, the players just don't need it. Why, if they're going to eat their chests in a matey-assed, multiplayer, autistic shooter like Counter Strike? Why make Warcraft 4 when there's a fecal, simplistic, Dota and Ligillegend type of game? Why pore over Medievalism 3 Total War when you can crap out Warhammer!!! And then... In general, almost go into stagnation, poking out the Saga of Britain, the engine Attila, passing off as a separate part of the game, not specifically optimizing it, with textures in 2012, stating "Well, in our game, will play at maximum in 2021 year ...". It's all sad. But survivable. It's the era of decline in the game industry, but the rebirth might not come, if everyone will finally get mad, and will buy these rascals.

I have Half-Life 2 + EP. I'm still waiting for the 3 episodes or 3 parts from Project Borealis. I am very excited about this game my uncle showed it to me and I passed all the episodes about 10 times my favorite 2 Ep. A very good game, I advise you to play do not regret it. (run the hashtag #HALFLIFEFOREVER)

Better than the modern ones, but of course there are exceptions. For example: The Witcher series, GTA, Wolfenstein which are great. Simply because then there was a different attitude to the games (and players), making games with soul, but now the primary objective is to get as much money from the CA. Yes, and in general modern games, somehow degrade, the main emphasis is on simplification, graphics (the latest NFS and Mafia, for example).
I feel very good about it. I still play Half-Life 2, assassins creed, far cry, crysis, and call of duty modern warfare (not Remastered).
