How do you feel about old games?

It's interesting to hear people's opinions on this. What do you think, is it worth wasting time on old platforms and games or there are so many new games coming out now that there is no time and desire for them? And another interesting point - do you play the first game of any major series (for example, Tomb Raider, The Elder Scrolls), before passing the new ones, or immediately proceed to their modern versions? Thanks in advance.

If there were no old games, what to say about new games. Same TES Morowind passed a couple of times, Oblivian even now play, if not for their accounting errors in the old games, was not the same Skyrima, and in general the series has not evolved further. In general, all new is the forgotten old. So all games are relevant ( except for the closed online games, God rest them :( )

Similarly to the old things, which will surely be replaced by new things.

Me too 8) I've seen the moaning about GTA:SA myself when it was already old relative to 2018 when it first came out and people were looking on trackers to download it. The game's forum was flooded with posts every second from hundreds of users who were eager to get their hands on the game &) Back then, in 2005, it was a new game, while the old games were Quake 3, the first Hulva, and Heroes 3... Now you see, everything is different: even the first Crysis game from 2007 is considered old...

It's funny, when you've seen these games and the hype on forums the year the game was released... Cvoxalury wrote:

Possibly. Graphon has grown considerably since about 2003 with the arrival of Unreal 2, before that the 3D character models were so-so...

Considering Quake 3 as old in 2005... Nah, well it already had some stamina at that time, but the fans kept it from getting old. Now it's successfully in the category of "old popular games."
According to such standards, and Mass Effect 3 is old now, but in multiplayer there is always a lot of people, I can not consider it old.
Kreisys. Yes. It's still a demanding powerful game for me (and it's still sometimes referred to as "graphics not as in Krysis"), and it has already implemented modern trends in movement mechanics, regeneration, all sorts of quest tags, cutscenes. How could a new generation game be old?

A quality leap in the first half of the 2000th (for example between ХЛ1 and ХЛ2, between Quake 2-3 and Quake 4, Doom 2 and Doom 3 (well, there was a leap on the space dimension), Daggerfall and Morrowind was felt more strongly than between the 2000th and the present games. So it's easier to single out old games - where there were no mimics, physics, often there were no shadows and reflections, everything was 64x64 and run at 640x480 - than to draw a line between games of the last 15 years. But that's what I consider games before that jump to be old. After them a kind of format was formed or something, which then just improved little by little.
