Before version 1.8, you don't need to fit into the armor at all - they DO NOT WORK! And with a weapon it is not clear - why is not an ore bastard sword - the most formidable weapon (damage - 110! Owners of ore blades drool on the floor)? And why bother to teach the manufacture of ore weapons then?
The best gothic style IMHO is the second. Perhaps even without the night of the Raven, because there with the Claw of Beliar is the same situation as with the bastard sword in the third part - there is no longer any point in forging advanced blades. And the complexity is high.
