Voice acting from 1C [impressions, discussion] (Mafia 2)
Here you can discuss Russian voice acting. How do you like it?Normally, it will do for a pass game.
At least you don't need to skip the video while reading the subs.
voice acting class! and the years in the voice acting have a better voice than the original, but there are few intonations IMHO!
Normal voice acting, at a good level. Here the main thing is to understand that any even very good dubbing is always worse than the original. And here you can see that the localizers tried their best, the voices were chosen well. In general, 9 out of 10
good voice acting for me) it would be more real if there was no censorship))) it's time to finally remove this censorship everywhere))) people will understand better: DD
Quite good voice acting. If only the actors would have made them a little more emotional, it would have been a blow at all. solid 8/10
I'm wondering if all of those who liked the voice acting played at least a couple of missions in the original? Generally incomparable sensations.
I would bet 6.5 / 10. A lot of work has been done, but not cool for my taste. I didn’t like the voice of gg, as did some others, especially Francesca.
However, you can play. In the first part, it was much worse in places.
in chapter 11 it is good))) I liked it -
"I told you that I have a business and you took me - and got me drunk)))"
The voice acting is good. Not perfect, but good. The only downside is that the main characters Vito and Joe are actually a little less emotional in Russian. But almost all the supporting characters play just with a bang (Henry, Luca, Derek, etc.). Almost everywhere everything is fine with lipstick. It seems that everyone who shouts shit about this localization, or really didn't see the bad ones, like Dragon Age, where the actors stammered, the men spoke in female voices and vice versa and a lot of other funny things. a certain game journalist (I don’t want to name the name) who crap at first the game on his blog, and then, probably for money, who praised it at the main place of work. Let's just say some journalists of the publication, which I do not want to call, including the one described above, seem to think of themselves as aesthetes from the world of games, a review of almost every game contains words of approximately the following content - play only with the original voice acting, and if you do not know the language, then learn rednecks. This is called snobbery and show-off. People have their own opinion, and do not listen to any idiots.
Peaceduke1982 What
have the journalists to do with it? If the voice acting is really weak, how else to perceive it? I already understood this the first time I launched a demo version in Russian, and then there was still no criticism of localization from journalists at all. As you start playing with the original voice acting, any desire to return the Russian will disappear completely, if, of course, you are friends with English ...

I'm friends with English, but I still prefer watching movies and playing games in my native language. The voice acting of Mafia 2 is really weaker than the original (by the way it happens in 90 percent of cases), but not worthy of such ratings as shit, kill yourself up the wall, etc. This is a good average. It is often much worse; it is rarely better. Well, I remembered about the journalists for a reason. I am glad if some of them really have a personal opinion, albeit different from mine, but many even in this topic take as a basis the opinion of such "experts" and even quote them as some authorities.
I personally don't force anyone to play with the original voice acting. But personally, I always like it better. I try to watch all films with the original track (even if it is not English, but Japanese or Korean). I respect the opinion of those who want to play in the national language (especially by paying for a license), but I do not share it.
Peaceduke1982, I have not seen GOOD localizations. middle peasants and squalor are everywhere (there are exceptions, like Starcraft II). I was personally lifted up by constantly the same voices, which are voiced by games, and in cheap TV shows under my ear, and some films too. for example, Boris Repetur in almost every game. but I used to hear him in the program "From the screw" and now, as his voice appears on the horizon, I immediately imagine that I am watching it :)
