do not drive a Blizzard...
during gameplay, press Ctrl-Alt-Del. get out the task Manager. in processes look at how Gothic it is allocated?.. the order of 200MB. This is the ENGINE.
if you put the cache on low, then the rest of the memory you have will simply be empty and the game to be hard!

and now you look in the game settings how much is allocated for the cache is at maximum?.. 600MB
here on the gig, those 600 MB should be used! just 200+600=800 plus system 100-200 MB. total exactly gig.

and if you put the cache on low, then ispolzovatsya is only 400 MB. and these 200 MB difference you will be continually hard one in the swap file to chase in vain.

(here is a rough estimate. without regard to memory with textures etc., but the meaning is the same - it is the data that is in memory to drive, to drive on hard).

about the flickering can anyone throw some advice?

schetovod
Blizzard and stuff, nobody drives. Read at least the forum at overclockers. With a small amount of operatives you run the risk of the maximum cache to exceed the size of operatives and you will start freezes and crashes.

schetovod 29.05.20

nothing will start.
not with empty places say, but because I have 1гиг.
so you have a cache operative, and all the rest in the swap file. and put the cache on a least - to be the opposite.

if the RAM is 1.5 gig, then you come to the Gothic-tuning and increase the cache of 25-30 percent.

Schetovod, tell me how has made such a difference in the display of the sand, and how to do that would be for smoothing not disappeared the water?

OK, do the following:
1. in game settings:
1.1. disable all shadows (not to put on a minimum, namely to disable)
1.2. postprocessing (bottom slider) to the RIGHT, i.e., a blurred horizon aka horizontal blur.
2. the video card drivers of course need to make a forcing AA
3. load the game. play with anti-aliasing, water and air). only the horizon is blurry.
4. maybe after loading the game is a terrible picture, like the noise of the disconnected channel in the TV or the static picture of the last savestate. and then we hit.......... alt-Tab!!!, i.e. go into the system. then again alt-Tab back into the game. and the picture is normal.
5. of course it should be something already mentioned several times, the same resolution and frequency in the system and the game.

PS
according to claim 4 there is an alternative. press alt-Tab after starting the game, in the menu screen. then again back in the game, and then loaded the save.

PPS
perhaps the option is not universal and only works on my its. in any case, try. if you're lucky like me)

Shader 3.0
and you have TAA and gamma-document included?..
and try the alternative option n. 4

schetovod, for the life of me...in those screenshots AA is still not see the ladder there.
And if you turn on depth of field, performance will drop very much...I Have 1.5 times. In Varant where the Orc patrols, vegetation is thick, the brakes are terrible...Turned on bloom, and is more or less playable.

s
schetovod 29.05.20

hmm, and here as a picture to sell to ? Specially made for moose visual AIDS, and the brain to predacity here lacking :)

schetovod - your picture is not the effect of AA, and the effect of postprocessing. You have postprocessing on different divisions stood ? It turns out that the ladder you have 2 screenshots are the same, just at the second she blurry...
