How do you feel about old games?
It's interesting to hear people's opinions on this. What do you think, is it worth wasting time on old platforms and games or there are so many new games coming out now that there is no time and desire for them? And another interesting point - do you play the first game of any major series (for example, Tomb Raider, The Elder Scrolls), before passing the new ones, or immediately proceed to their modern versions? Thanks in advance.
With pleasure I play and do not bother because of the graphics.
While very old, which are on VGA, cause a slight dissonance.
That's Elita, for example, or early Ultima.
Good thing is that a lot of people are working to bring the old games in a digestible form.
For example, in the days when the game was on some 5.25 floppy and had little space, it came with a little book, which at the request of the game needed to open and read the description of the event, and the game just choose the answers.
Respectively, in the same Ishar or Eye of the Beholder text screwed into the game, the book is no longer needed)
Rereviewed Wizardry c 6 to 8 - just a real treat.
I love it very much. A lot of old is better than new.
If you find me an adequate replacement for Soldiers of Anarchy, 7.62, and Dovik, which is soulstorm, I'll say I was wrong.
There are actually plenty of exceptions, but still.
+ some games for older versions of Windows don't want to work adequately, hello "chaosgate!"

Whatever you say, the old games sometimes catch on better than the new ones. Yes, in many was not a great open world, yes jousting were corridor and was not freakpleya, but in many was the atmosphere that many modern masterpieces of game industry, as to China on his hands)))) here for example I played in CREW yes graphs beautiful, but the empty open world and the same old races bored me quickly ((( and i got addicted to play the first Underground)))) and it grabbed me so that after the first one rum-dom losing track of time i was sitting for it all night long)))) In shooters there was such a plot that I was really afraid to skip the splash screen, but now shoot bots - level up - shoot bots - level up, and if there is a plot, it's stupid to the extreme.

Today I'd rather play an older game than any of the more recent ones. Only for 90's games my eyes aren't the same anymore... Not enough textures to digest the vyroglaze textures. But the beginning of the noughties is the juice. Behind enemy lines, Commando, Red Alert 2, Generals, Medallions, SoFs, second Tombique. That kind of fun isn't present in the genre today.

I have a positive attitude towards old games, they seem to me (or maybe not) better than new ones. A lot of people are repulsed by the old graphophone, but you just have to imagine that you're going through the game at the time of release.
