How do you feel about old games?

It's interesting to hear people's opinions on this. What do you think, is it worth wasting time on old platforms and games or there are so many new games coming out now that there is no time and desire for them? And another interesting point - do you play the first game of any major series (for example, Tomb Raider, The Elder Scrolls), before passing the new ones, or immediately proceed to their modern versions? Thanks in advance.

I think the old games are more atmospheric than the new ones, but I have no complaints about the new ones, but only for now.

In general, games used to be made with soul in the majority and for the people, but now either they continue to rivet cult games and for profit. Manage to make a mess of all the normal games. For instance my favorite game Fallout 3 from the 4th already made a sims or something. Far Cry 1,2 passed with pleasure, the third to the retarded scene (fighting with a knife) with a twitching key ... . And removed to such a mother. What idiocy. Or make an arcade out of the cult action type Stalker, the question is for what? I'm like Mario and games like that never liked. And you mentioned Stronghold Crusader - a masterpiece of the strategy genre. How many not started a strategy game, no better than Stronghold. All simply and tastefully done. For me, it is the embodiment of childhood fantasy, when I played plastic soldiers. Only 1000000 times better.

I love it, and I often play it under the emulator.

In early 2018, I rewatched Blade of Darkness. In some places the battles are better than Dark Souls, but the lore and levels lose out on everything. Otherwise the best slasher on the pec, since DS is already an rpg.

I have a positive attitude. I keep replaying Doom, Quake, Heretic, Hexen, and, of course, TES: Daggerfall.

There is sometimes nostalgia and a desire to go through the same Max Payne, Half-Life 2 again and again... I used to enjoy the nascent non-linear games with large worlds and corridor walkthroughs in the shadows. But now I'm fed up with those worlds, I'm tired of going through long hours, sometimes I just want to go through the story again without all the 100% and discovery, just go through like a good old Project I.G.I.

I'm tired of going through long hours.

Virtually the only game I want to replay - Severance Blade of darkness, but the last two years can not find a working repack (Maybe someone can advise on the 10 (64)?).
There are of course old games that I play from time to time: Follaut 2 (from Fargus), etc.

Fargus.

Rootracker has an edition from GOG. There is a big theme on this game, there are several options to run (d3d or glide) and even fixed rusik. On Win8 works, should ideally go to Win10. Myself this game really like, but the last time I passed it about 1.5-2 years ago, then on Win7.
